At the end of the day.......

Nicki Minaj Vs. Lil' Kim: Who Is The Real Winner?

On Friday (November 26), Lil' Kim aimed a scathing dis track entitled "Black Friday" at Nicki Minaj during the release week of Barbie's much-anticipated Pink Friday LP.

In addition to Minaj, Kim's song, recorded over Pharoahe Monch's "Simon Says" beat, also stung Young Money affiliate Drake, capo Lil Wayne, one-time mentor and friend Diddy as well as her rival Foxy Brown ("This the s--t the other bitch almost got killed for"). On the other hand, the Queen Bee gives props to the man responsible for starting Nicki's career; Barbie's one-time manager Fendi, who initially introduced her to the rap game through his "On The Come Up" DVDs. Lil' Kim's clap back to Nicki's "Roman's Revenge" was definitely more exciting than the traditional Black Friday shopping run and hip-hop fans are buzzing.

"I just listened to Lil' Kim's full Nicki dis n gotd--nit I don't know what you hip-hop fans is on but she gotta respond to that one I'm sorry," Royce Da 5'9 tweeted. "Anybody that think that record is wack must just not like Kim as a person ... Ain't nothing wrong that record it's just that Nicki is so good."

One commenter on RapFix felt both parties were responsible for hip-hop's latest brouhaha.

"Nicki has completely different style than Kim," said Samantha. "Nicki is unique and original and there is no one like her. Kim was my girl when I was like 12, but Nicki has taken over. Nicki may have talked some s--t but so did Kim. So both sides need to see their place."

"Damn! Maybe Nicki should have taken her own advice and kept quiet," said Journey, another commenter. "Kim let her get some shine off her name and now she pretty much destroyed this wack wannabe popstar chick."

While many heads are salivating over the battle, some feel the war of words is unnecessary.

"They don't need to dis each other to be great in their own light, they each have something to offer, that's just a fact of the world we live in, but in my opinion, Niki blows minds," said another commenter Zo.

Rapper Bun B offered similar sentiments, noting the real puppeteers behind the Nicki-Kim squabble are the labels.

"The more you entertain bulls--t, the more people that think bulls--t is entertaining," Bun tweeted. "Only winners in Kim-Nicki beef are the labels."

Is it love or hate!!!!!!

If anyone out there is keeping count of the ongoing feud between rap divas Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj, then they would clearly know it is now the Queen Bee’s turn to serve – or not. But was Nicki’s latest salvo towards Kim simply a form of attention seeking flattery? One prominent mind in music seems to think so.
Drummer and producer for The Roots Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson weighed in on the battle of the Barbies and offered an interesting point of discussion by calling the clash of the female rap titans nothing more than a love fest. "[I]ts my personal belief that dissing/verbal (well & actual) pugilism is the most intense form of LOVE," tweeted Thompson.
Questlove then went on to add, "[W]here your intent is to affect/infect em to the highest degree. i know that sounds contradictory (displaying harsh actions as a sign of affection) but if you see this in somewhat of a shakespearean (or maybe the hero/sidekick narrative of The Incredibles) one can only conclude that if Nik REALLY hated Kim...... she would do the most painful act of hate....which i pretty much know from experience (as loved and hated) the surefire slow burning-last-scene-in-kill-bill-way-to get under ones skin....is to act like they never existed."
In the elongated tweet, Questlove seemingly suggests that the "thin love between love and hate" narrative is what is underfoot stating that indifference from Nicki toward Kim would be more of a reversal of love than flat out hate or disdain. Still, it isn’t as if Questlove is rooting for an end to the war of words.
"[L]ong as this don't end up the way kim's last beef ended with Fox (member the hot97 shootout which pretty much landed kim where she is now) i say let em battle and continue this lovefest," he tweeted in closing.

Lil Kim or Nicki Minaj: Who's better

Attorneymom, a conservative blogger in Atlanta metro, writes: "If you are up on the latest Hip Hop News, then you have heard of the continued beef between Nicki Minaj and the Queen of Rap, Lil Kim. Lil Kim feels that newcomer female MC Nicki Minaj is not showing her the proper respect that the Queen B clearly deserves since newcomer has clearly copied her image."

She continues her commentary: "Hands down, I am Team Queen B all day. 1996 was a pivotal year for me both personally and professionally. I was admitted to practice law, opened my law firm and got engaged to my current husband and babies’ daddy. 1996 was also when Notorious Big’s protégé took over the rap game with her HARDCORE album debut. From the first track to the last, Lil Kim proved that she would be (and still is) the Queen of Rap. Her hardcore lyrics redefined the sexual revolution for female MC(s). She proved that female MC(s) can both lyrically deliver raps 'hard' like a dude and still maintain their femininity. She taught us about rocking Prada while sipping Cristal and driving the E-Class with goggles. Tell ‘em how you roll: 'Cruise Control.'"

More: "Fast forward to 2010 and the female MC buzz is starting again. But this time, the buzz is being generated by a bipolar- swag jacking female Ninja Turtle. That’s right, I am talking about Rapper Nicki Minaj. Why do I have an attitude with Miss Minaj? Because I do not like people with bad attitudes and overly inflated egos. It is clear that Nicki is a cross between Lil Kim and Missy Misdemeanor Elliot and has JUST recently released one album. Yet, this clown on meds has an ego that is larger than the circumference of the earth. Blank stare."

Booker Rising response: I'm not a fan of either one. Missy Elliott puts both chicks to shame. If we wanna go old-school, so do Queen Latifah and MC Lyte in their prime. However, at least Lil' Kim has rapping skills. Plus, I gotta admit that her song "The Jump Off" was a jam.

Trina Embarrassed Over Nicki Minaj & Lil Kim Beef, "This Makes Us All Look Bad"

Southern rapper Trina has weighed in Lil Kim's beef with Nicki Minaj and explained the impact it is having on the female rap game.
"That's crazy. I really don't get it. I don't see where all this is coming from," Miami's Trina told MTV News via e-mail this week about Kim's comments. "[We're] all ladies. Can't we just make music and get our paper and keep it moving?! We all respect Kim. She opened the doors for us females. It's all good -- everybody's eating, what's the issue?" Trina also pointed to the dearth of high-profile women in hip-hop as a reason for Kim to fall back with the criticism. "This makes us all look bad. There's barely any female artists as is -- we don't need this!""For the last year, she's been subliminally taking shots at me, subliminally taking shots at the other girls in the industry and I mean come on, we read that interview where she said 'Oh, being that the other rap chicks in the game ain't got sh*t to do right now, when I'm by the pool, they can feed me grapes,' I remember that sh*t," Kim said in an interview. "I keep my ears to the street at all times. Just because I do my Hollywood thing and my Malibu Barbie thing don't mean my ears ain't to the streets at all times. The last thing she did that was very subliminal, 'Oh, did I kill the Queen?' and Puffy is sitting right next to her vibing with that bullsh*t. Come on, we ain't stupid. Let's go all the way back, when she started doing all my songs over. There were certain interviews she was doing and my fans were getting upset, because she was busting shots at me, actually she was throwing pebbles -- it's obvious I'm who she wants to be, it's obvious that she likes me and wants to be like me but she's not paying the homage. It's obvious that she likes my music and that she's trying to mimic what I'm doing, she's subliminally busting shots." (This Is 50)"Here's my thing, all females that come in the game, we all need to stick together and I always try my best to embrace them but what happens is when you come into the game and realize that I'm not going away and my fans are still here and they can't just step over me. They can't just step on me and then they're kinda like, they get upset and then they don't want to be my friend anymore and I think that's really childish, you know what I'm saying? It's stupid because all I ask for is to be respected -- pay homage at the end of the day, a lot of things go on behind the scenes that people don't know about and it will be aired out. You can't hide the truth -- when I came out to do this promo tour, it was a reminder of where it came from because if you're gonna swagger jack somebody and take their style, at least pay the respect and the homage..." (Kendra G)"She definitely deserves the respect. She doesn't have an album out or sold any records, but it's more so about the passion and the response she gets from the listeners. To see her pave her way from nothing to come up to be a topic or a name. You give that respect to the person coming up making a name for themselves. That's just real talk. I don't pull any punches. People say I give too much credit to people but it's not about that. It's about being real. And being real is giving props when it's due. You can't be hating or mad when you see people doing their thing." (XXL Mag)

How to be like Kim Kardashian

How to be
Like Kim Kardashian
The only woman that can share the spotlight with Paris Hilton and more than hold her own is socialite turned reality TV star, Kim Kardashian. With her exotic good looks and carefree attitude, Kim is a woman that every man wants to be with and lots of women want to be like. So if Kim's sexy style is your goal, here's some hot tips on how to achieve her look.
Difficulty: Easy

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Raven brown hair (real or fake)
  • Lancome Sensation Effect Eyeshadow in Designer Metallic
  • Black eyeliner (lots!)
  • Eyelash curler
  • Black mascara
  • Revlon Naturally Nude Lipstick
  • Big breasts (real or fake)
  • Self tanner
  1. 1
    Kim's flowing hair
    Kim's flowing hair
One of Kim's most outstanding features is her long, flowing, gorgeous raven head of hair. In order to get Kim's hairstyle, you'll first need to dye your hair the correct shade of brownish/black. A good shade to try is Garnier Black Licorice. Next, in order to get Kim's long, wavy, flowing locks there are several things you can do. You can get hair extensions if your hair isn't as long as Kim's. Try HairDo by Jessica Simpson. They're easy to use and relatively inexpensive. Or, set your hair with rollers or use a curling iron sparingly on the ends to achieve that wavy, flowing look.
  2. 2
    Kim's eyes
    Kim's eyes
Kim's eyes are her most striking facial feature and in order to get her smoky look down pat, some practice is required. First you need to apply Lancome's Sensation Effect Eyeshadow in Designer Metallic across the full length of your upper and lower eyelids. Then take a clean eyeshadow brush and gently smudge the colors (this creates the smoky effect). Add another layer of eyeshadow on your lower lid. Next, line your eyes (the inner rim as well) and lightly smudge the eyeliner. Then fill in your eyebrows to make them darker. (Dark eyebrows add to the dramatic eye effect.) Next, curl your eye lashes and add 2 layers of mascara. Finally, since Kim's eyes are so dramatic the lips need to be downplayed so just like Kim, complement your smoky eyes by using Revlon Naturally Nude Lipstick. Be sure to check the resource section below for a link to a step by step video on how to achieve Kim's dramatic eyes in five minutes flat.
  3. 3

Another of Kim's outstanding assets are her breasts. There are rumors going around whether Kim's are real or fake but in any case in order to achieve Kim's rather ample endowments you can either go the breast implant route or get a great padded bra. Victoria's Secret sells some great ones that not only do the job but look sexy as well.
  4. 4
    Kim's tan
    Kim's tan
Kim would not be Kim without her great tan. And thanks to her Armenian heritage, Kim's tan is year-round natural. If you however, weren't born so lucky, you can achieve the yearly tan look with some good old fashioned self tanner. The best (and the brand that Kim would probably use if she had to) is Clarins Self Tanning Hydrating Gel. It is a bit pricey but hey, if you want to be tan like Kimmy, you have to go the extra mile.
  5. 5
    Kim and her friend shopping
    Kim and her friend shopping
Kim can, of course, afford to wear any designer outfit she wants but if you want to dress like her, and maybe even run into her, then head straight for Dash, the boutique that Kim co-owns with her sisters, Kourtney and Khloe. Dash is located at 4774 Park Granada Suite #5, Calabasas, California. Dash carries such designer lines such as Alex Gaines, Alice & Olivia, Anna Sui, Catherine Malendrino and Chloe, many of which are the very designers that Kim actually wears.

Why hate on Lil Miss Nicki?

The Barbie vs. Barbie beef has officially reached DEFCON-1.
This week Lil Kim took her issues with Nick Minaj to another level releasing her video for the scathing mixtape cut "Black Friday," a track dedicated solely to annihilating the Nickster. To add further insult to injury, the clip was directed by Fendi, Nicki Minaj’s former manager, and shows a Nicki Minaj clone attempting to replicate Lil’ Kim.
The question is, where is this beef going?
"Lil’ Kim is like a kindergartener – silence is ammunition," Erika Ramirez, of VIBE, New York Magazine and Latina, explains. "She’ll keep pushing buttons ‘til she gets a reaction."
Nicki’s response thus far to Kim’s browbeating has been nothing more than giggles on Twitter, with the exception of her interview last year with Angie Martinez of NYC’s Hot 97 radio station, where Nicki posed a rhetorical question to Kim, "Where is your music?" Three months later it appears Nicki has found her answer."While I do see maturity in the way Nicki Minaj has handled the situation thus far – brushing it off with a few "Lol" tweets here and there – I think it’s time for Barbz to speak up," Ramirez continues. "It does speaks volumes that with just the sales earned from ‘Roman’s Revenge,’ Nicki Minaj can buy out Kim’s imaginary Pay Pal records."
This behavior is historically typical of Lil’ Kim.
"Kim has had long-standing beef with other artists, most notably Foxy Brown, with whom she never reconciled," Steven Horowitz, Associate Editor of YRB Magazine recalls. "She knows how to hold a grudge." Horowitz doesn’t see the situation escalating any further. "While she might be at the peak of her intense attack on Nicki, it will probably fizzle," he states. "But like with Foxy, she’ll still fire errant shots when she can."There is also a slight possibility that Nicki Minaj will entertain this battle.
"I would love for the tiff between Lil’ Kim and Nicki Minaj to play out much in the same way Canibus and LL Cool J’s beef did years ago, where both continue to release intriguing dis records that become a part of hip hop history," Georgette Cline, Editor at AOL Music and Rap-Up.com says. "But ever since Kim put out the ‘Black Friday’ track last year, we haven’t heard much retaliation from Nicki on record besides the ‘has been’ remarks on ‘Roman’s Revenge.’ Either Nicki’s trying something new by not addressing the mockery that is Kim’s mixtape cover or she’s just letting the dust settle before she drops a lyrical bomb on her."Ramirez agrees, "I want to hear Minaj’s thoughts, whether it be via a dis record or an interview."
Prior to dropping "Roman’s Revenge", Nicki inserted subtle jabs to Kim on tracks like Kanye West’s "Monster," Trey Songz’ "Bottoms Up" and her Will.i.Am collaboration "Check It Out". However, Nicki has yet to release a work dedicated mainly to Kim in the manner Black Friday has been dedicated to her. This beef appears to have done more for Lil’ Kim’s career than it has Nicki’s, as Pink Friday sits at the top of the Billboard charts still after 11 weeks. Before this beef occurred, Lil’ Kim hadn’t formally released any music in years.
"I predict that this will be the female version of 50 Cent vs. Ja Rule, and Kim will eventually go on to make a Hardcore 2 on an indie label," Jake Paine, Editor-In-Chief of HipHopDX.com states, as Kim now has leverage to continue her career.
While everyone loves a good battle, the results of this one could either be career rejuvenating or career ending.
"Kim is digging her own proverbial grave at this point in the hip hop history books," states Dove, Editor of UrbLife.com and RadioPlanet.tv.
Dove continues, "I think people would respect a toe-to-toe lyrical joust, but Nicki moved on from cypher battling to become the pop diva she is now. Kim needs to grow up, seriously. Nothing good can come of this."
I don't kno why everyone wants to get in the middle of this drama. I think this is going to turn out real bad if it don't get smashed now.
The clone references classic Kim videos like "Crush On You," off Lil’ Kim’s debut album Hard Core. "Black Friday" appears on the same titled mixtape, which Kim alleges sold record setting amount on Pay Pal in just under 24 hours. The mixtape is essentially a collection of Minaj jabs wrapped into one project.
